 Objectives of the Camp

  •         Upgrade scoutcraft and management skills in preparation for next year.

  •         Raise mental and physical standards

  •         Provide opportunities for Sec 2s and 1s to be assessed for leadership appointment next year.

  •         Allow Sec 3s to have an insight into the actual running of camp operations to prepare them for next yr camp.

 CONCEPT

The Sec 2s will be given more opportunities to plan and organize activities after being taught the methodology. All these opportunities are also chances for the mentors to observe and assess them, and together with observations through the year, determine those individuals with potential to be appointment holders next year. Every session of the day will have a duty PL, chosen by them from their daily crop of PLs. Duty PL is supposed to ensure that timings and events during his duty slot flows smoothly. Briefing and executions of daily major activities will also be conducted by the Sec 2s, watched over and evaluated by the camp mentors.

There will also be tests for progress badge standards to help the Sec 2s and 1s clear their standard.

The Sec 3s will be holding vital camp appointments like secretary, QM and treasurer and will be shadowing the present camp committee to learn the finer points of planning camp, in preparation for their own camp next yr.
